LYRICS

Metemspychosis I - This Bottle of Wine

Let’s set this plan in motion
Cause I know we can make the time
Go ahead, and take the notion
Just you, me, and this bottle of wine

Let this happen
Cause I know, we’d do better this time
And I would be your only habit
And you’d be the scene of our crime

Let’s put this plan in motion
And I’ll keep an eye out for your heart
Oh yeah, ignore the confusion
And we, we could make a new start

Perdition can be held at bay
On the condition that you come my way
Death is not certain, do not mourn
We will rise from the ashes
And be reborn, reborn
We’ll be reborn, reborn
We’ll be reborn, reborn

You should’ve told him you changed your mind
And tonight, tonight you could’ve been mine
But now I know, it’s not our time
It’s just me, and this bottle of wine

Perdition won’t be held at bay
Damnation is on its way
Death is certain, oh but do not mourn
I will rise from the ashes
And be reborn, reborn
I will be reborn, reborn
I will fly from the ashes
And be reborn, reborn
I will be reborn, reborn
I will be reborn, reborn
I will be reborn

Metemspychosis II - Water Into Wine

I know we’ve had some hard times
I concede the implication
My one invocation
Let the reparations fit the crime

Don’t let the cynics sway you
They hold no invitations
My one petition
Declare our love as true

If the sun won’t rise to shine
We’ll make our water into wine
If time decides to fall apart
We’ll endure in each other’s hearts
If the last seal cracks
And the seven trumpets play
You and I, together, will find a way

I will be your beacon
In a rayless night
Do not fear extinction
My one requisition
Let our love be your guide

Stay the course
No reservations
No compromise

Keep true
No reservations
See the truth in my eyes

If the sun won’t rise to shine
We’ll make our water into wine
If time decides to fall apart
We’ll endure in each other’s hearts
If the last seal cracks
And the seven trumpets play
You and I, together, will find a way

Keep true
No trepidation
See the truth in my eyes

Anamnesis I - Old Grey Moon

Whisper to me, old grey moon
We’ll share tales of love that died too soon
Float above me in that silvery sky
My one companion on this long, cold night

Ten years to the day, since I found your note
Ten years and a day, since you walked away
Ten full moons, since I gave up hope
I burned your picture the very next day

Coffee’s cold, my head is on fire
A cold wind whistles, a dog barks outta tune
I stoke the embers, and the flames reach higher
Here I am, all alone in this room

Outside the shadows, they grow long and wide
The last of the sun readies to run and hide
I wrote you a note, I put on my coat
I sat back down cause I’ve got nowhere to go

Whisper to me, old grey moon
We’ll share tales of love that died too soon
Float above me in that silvery sky
My one companion on this long, cold night

Ten years to the day, since your letter caught flame
The words “I’m sorry” the last to float away
Ten full moons since I cried your name
I burned your picture the very next day

Ten years to the day…
Ten years and a day…
Ten full moons…
I burned your picture the very next day

Listen to me, old grey moon
I’ll tell you a tale of love that died too soon
Gaze upon me, and please tell me why
It’s just you and I, on this long cold night
It’s just you and I, on this long cold night
It’s just you and I, on this long cold night

Anamnesis II - Prometheus Heart

How many times, can a man lose his life?
A thousand cuts
From one relentless knife

How many ways, can a spirit be torn?
Each new day
Prometheus reborn

But today
Today
I start to feel okay

Go away
Go away
Get out of my mind

Stay away
Stay away
Let my dreams be mine

Let me have some peace tonight

Please tell me
What can I do?

I start each day
A pint and a memory away
From another crack in my heart

Splinters of time spent with you

Please help me
I beg of you

My heart cries to be free
But I know it will forever be
A graveyard set apart

For tombs that hold my love for you

Fugue State I - Hypnagogia

Sun go down, and let me sleep
Moon come ‘round, bring me some peace
Sun go down, and please, let me sleep

The wind, it cries your name
The moon, weeps for my shame
The stars, they light my way
The wind, it cries your name

Fugue State II - Draumr

He kicked up dust, but left no shadow
Wandering the back roads, where no one dwells
Removed from a world, left behind long ago
Chased by ghosts and walking straight towards hell

His worn out boots, dug tracks in the snow
A torn vagabond, with no where to go
His head pointed west, both feet in tow
Trying to forget everything he knows

Sun go down
Sun go down

He lay down, in the shade of a tree
His eyes closed, blocking memories
Only in his dreams, is he set free
From thoughts of the past and the verdict they decree

And he cried! He cried! He cried to the sky!

You need to set
And I need to dream
The moon’ll come around
And I, I will see
The best part of me that I can never be
Sun go down
Sun go down

And he cried! He cried! He cried to the sky!

You need to set and I need to dream
The moon’ll come around and I, I will see
The best part of me that I can never be
Sun go down
Please go down
Just go down
Sun go down

Fugue State III - Hypnopompia

The sun begs me to wake
Ten years to the day

The wind it cries your name
Oh brown eyed Annie Mae

The moon weeps for my shame
While seven trumpets play

The stars they light my way
While you’re a world away

One more thing to say
The wind it cries your name

Hekate I - Rational Fear of Drowning Slowly

I can’t tell, if I’m coming up for air
It’s just as well, I’m not sure I even care

Tear stained eyes, you put on quite the show
It’s no surprise, you can’t survive on your own

But it’s time, oh yes it’s time
Time for me to say goodbye
I’ve tried, oh yes I’ve tried
But now I have to run
Claw at the sun
To survive

Fathoms count, as I’m pulled down below
The pressure mounts, as the danger continues to grow

I fight back, when I should just let go
But all is black, when I’m lost in your shadow

But it’s time, oh yes it’s time
It’s time for me to say goodbye
I’ve tried, oh yes I’ve tried
But now I have to run
Claw at the sun
To survive

Fathoms count, as I’m pulled down below
The pressure mounts, and the danger continues to grow

I push back, but nothing gives way
Shell is cracked, my soul approaches its fate

But it’s time, oh yes it’s time
It’s time for me to say goodbye
I’ve tried, oh yes I’ve tried
But now I have to run
Claw at the sun
To survive

Hekate II - Soft Green Eyes

Long red hair, caught up in the wind
The scent of jasmine over eggshell skin
One glance, at your lips
And I go blind
Now you’re everywhere
I’ve nowhere, left to hide

Say just one honest word to me
The girl, I want to love
Please, set her free

Soft green eyes, veil pain within
Two ways to laugh, one real and one pretend
Is that a smile, or a wicked little grin?
It’s just enough
To break me down, again

Tear down your walls and let me see
The woman inside
The one that hides
Behind the lies
Behind those soft, green eyes

Soft green eyes, so scared and wild
A woman’s fear, the pure love of a child
Long red hair, so soft in my hands
Soft green eyes, they pull me in
Where you end, where I begin

Say just one honest word to me
The girl, I want to love
Please, set her free

Tear down your walls and let me see
The woman inside
The one that hides
Behind the lies
Behind those soft, green eyes

Soft green eyes, veil pain within
Two ways to laugh, one real and one pretend
Is that a smile, or a wicked little grin?
It’s just enough, to break me down, again

Recrudecence I - Alameda Junction

Alameda Junction, I’m headed your way
Hopped a train in Fargo, Dakota Railway
I shared a fire, with Captain Joe
Don’t you know, he was headed my way

We shared a drink or two, told tales till dawn
He tossed me a silver coin and sang me a song
He played a broke down piano
Hit a wrong note, looked up he was gone

Jumped on a caravan, round noon one day
They dropped me in Reno and went on their way
I dealt five cards to One Eyed Poe
We played slow, drank whiskey all day

I woke to a blood soaked floor and a bag of gold
And a girl, I’ve never met, all stiff and cold
No sign of One Eyed Poe
Just a note
“Sorry man, I had to go”

Alameda Junction, miles away
Alameda Junction, Annie Mae
Kissed your mouth in the month of June
Caught your eye from across the room
I carved your name in that old cedar tree
Made love by the moon, woke midday
Brown eyed Annie Mae – I’m comin’ your way

Grabbed a horse and flew with the Sherriff on my tail
Almost made Sacramento, to no avail
I begged him, to let me go
He said no, and he hauled me to jail

Judge banged his gavel down, despite my plea
And he tossed me underground, while Poe stayed free
I dreamed of Annie, every night
Sweet moonlight, and that old cedar tree

Alameda Junction, a world away
Alameda Junction, oh lord, Annie Mae

Ten years later, turned free one day
Two dollars and a capo and I’m comin’ your way
I felt the sun, and turned to go
To Old Frisco, I love you Annie Mae

Alameda Junction, miles away
Alameda Junction, Annie Mae
Kissed your mouth in the month of June
Caught your eye from across the room
I carved your name in that old cedar tree
Made love by the moon, woke midday
Brown eyed Annie Mae
Oh brown eyed Annie Mae
Brown eyed Annie Mae – I’m comin’ your way

Recrudecence II - Secrets of Things Let Go

Walking along, alone for the snow
I see an old man, out by the road
His thumb held high, head hangin’ low
I asked “Hey man, what do you know?”
He said “The secrets of things let go”

We passed some time, with nothing said
He shook out his boots and he turned his head
And he said “Dead men, tell no tales
But this one has got a story for sale
For a smoke and a pint of ale”

He sang of eyes, caverns of blue
He gnashed his teeth, and he wailed to the moon
He wept and mourned till the sun withdrew
I hugged him, and turned away
He raised his head, one more thing to say

“The weapons we ordain
In the blood of those whose love we claim
Become the Judas that betrays
Drives the soul to an early grave
What’s left behind to live with the shame”

Do you hope it’s me when the doorbell rings?
Do you hear my voice in a crowded room?
Do you see my face there in your dreams?
Would you open your arms to me?
If I came back home
If I could somehow get back home

I woke at dawn, started down the road
I saw your face in the rising sun
I knew in that moment, which way to go
I turned around, headed back up the road
To the only angel I’ve ever known

Do you hope it’s me when the doorbell rings?
Do you hear my voice in a crowded room?
Do you see my face there in your dreams?
Would you open your arms to me?
If I came back home
If I could somehow get back home
